2008 Spring Classes and Events Please note registration for all classes is required. Registration may be made by phone 508-653-3433, stopping by the store or printing the application form on our website (www.ironhorsefarm.org) and mailing it to Iron Horse Farm, 29 Coolidge Street, Sherborn, MA 01770. We prefer a check or cash. Payment is due at the time of registration. We reserve the right to cancel any class in which a minimum of participants have not registered up to 4 days prior to the class. A full refund will be forwarded to those who have paid. There is no refund to participants who need to cancel within one week of the class unless we are able to fill from our waiting list. If the position is filled, a refund minus a processing fee of $10.00 will be reimbursed within 7 days of the class being held. Please make sure that contact information is given in case we need to cancel in case of snow. Classes will be conducted otherwise and there is no refund for those who do not attend. Informal Fiber/Stitching Get-Together Take a couple of hours to meet new friends, get motivated for that new project or just sit and work on your favorite piece. Well love show and tell! This is a very informal adult get together with no lessons, or speakers. Any age, any level of experience from beginner to advance. All fiber or stitch artists with portable spinning wheels and projects are welcome. FREE. Call ahead so we can save a seat for you. 508-653-3433. Click Here for a Printable Registration Form Adult Beginner's Knitting Class Spend a fun filled evening with those who have never knitted before or need a refresher course. Learn how to select a project, choose the right yarn and supplies and learn to read a pattern. Each student may bring a project of their choice to the first class meeting or talk to us about a first project. All materials should be bought to the first class. Hand outs will be included. Fee $65.00. Registration required. Click Here for a Printable Registration Form FULL! Nuno Felting Combine silk and wool fiber together to create a beautiful felted scarf. This process can be used with other types of material and wool. No previous experience with felting needed. This is a variation of felting with water, soap and agitation - minimally messy! All materials and equipment supplied. Students may bring their own yarn to embellish the scarves. Due to the work involved, class will start promptly at 7 p.m. Fee $45.00. Limit of 5 students. Have more some friends and yourself who would like to try a certain art? We would love to organize a formal class for you, even during the summer months. The minimum class size is 4 students. Young people’s classes are available for small groups in knitting, felt making and crochet also. To inquire call 508-653-3433. Private Lessons Private lessons are offered at the farm in felting (traditional wet, nuno and needle), spinning, knitting and crocheting. Our private lessons are open to people age 8 years to??? They can be geared toward individual learning styles. These lessons are offered in a relaxed atmosphere on a one-to-one or one-to-two basis. Lesson fee is $35.00 for a full hour. All materials are extra. Spinning wheels are available for rent to our students for $1.50/per day. We also have a resource list for other workshops and classes occasionally offered.
